This was our first time at Ashton Gardens. So we got there early – really early – to check things out. I had already prepared Plan A & backup Plan B for portraits in my head, figured out the flow of the day and scoped out the reception room before Renee even arrived.
It’s funny how both plans for portraits got nixed when it actually came time to do the portraits. As the sun did its thing (you know, move up in the sky as the day progressed) it became utterly impossible to stand in either location without a double layer of sunglasses and SPF 70. Ah, Texas in October.
So Plan C came to pass and Renee and her mother, Deidra, gushed about how lovely the location was that I choose. Thank you Mr. Sun.
After the ceremony, shots inside the church of the families were a must.
The wedding party.
You may have noticed the cross in the back of the church. It was made by Renee’s father and brought in for their wedding. It was perfect, just perfect.
Love that architecture.
