The email came from Rick and it was simple. He was eloping with his fiance in Dallas on the following Friday and he wanted a photographer who could get him some great images of the elopement. A few days prior, the venue changed to the McKinney Performing Arts Center … and that was everything I knew.
When the bride arrived, I didn’t even know her name! I swiftly helped her get her veil in, pin the boutonniere on the groom and I whisked them upstairs for their first look. I didn’t even know I was doing a first look! We were flying by the seat of our pants, guys!
After the first look, we took advantage of the stage. I love lighting and stages, so this was a dream come true for me to be able to photograph a bride and a groom on a stage with no restrictions and no time limit.
