I know you all like a good Lynn Michelle story, so here’s an excellent one. Let’s talk about the weather.
Vivian and I have seen our fair share of weather conditions over the years. It took us a few years, but we finally learned to not take outdoor weddings in the middle of the summer. (Well, we mostly learned. I totally shot a scorcher last June. No regrets.)
We have seen the rains come, but they have always conveniently occurred right before or right after a ceremony. We have exercised more than our fair share of rain plans – including the one time that a thunderstorm came roaring through Dallas unexpectedly and dropped the temperature 20 degrees. In the middle of the day. In July.
But this was different. I seem to remember that we knew bad weather was heading our way so everyone geared up to do the final sendoff a tad early. Mackenzie and Cody finished their last dance and Vivian & I ran outside with them just as the big raindrops became to fall. And then, within a mere blink of an eye, it was the onslaught of an unforgiving downpour. Everyone was drenched and covered in gooey biodegradable schtuff.
It’s not a party until you leave soaking wet, covered in gooey biodegradable stuff.
