I never know the fun exciting things that any given wedding day will throw at us. With the party bus stuck in traffic and not having a definite ETA, we made the decision to begin wedding party pictures at River Crest Country Club. I kept the whole group fairly close to the front of the club so that we could hop on at any time with minimal effort.
Our wedding planner, Rhonda Baker with Precisely as Planned was amazing in keeping me updated as I kept giving her my wide-eyed where-is-the-damn-bus?! facial expressions. Unfortunately, the bus went to the wrong location so we kept the troops as entertained as possible.
Vivie is going to kill me – but this is right about the time that she tripped on an uneven piece of pavement and hit the ground with her camera and 70-200 lens. Dent in the lens, dent in the camera, dent in the Vivie. It was the second time in our history that we had to use black duct tape on our pants (the first was last October when I snagged the side on a jaded piece of metal sticking out from behind a bar; thank goodness for Tetanus shots!).
However, Vivie was a trooper, even though I knew her knee was hurting and she was holy embarrassed. Lindsay was amazing, asking if she was ok and offering to let her take a breather. Thank goodness I wasn’t too mean to Vivie because I ended up tripping over that same piece and luckily catching myself before I hit the ground.
I do maintain that it was the slowest fall in history, with her arms flailing all over the place, catching herself, then continuing to fall and then watching her face change expressions at least three times. Love you, Vivie!
After the ceremony, the TCU Cheerleaders met us outside and Lindsay & Bret had a few moments to pose with them!
From there, we caught up with family portraits and moved on to the reception for the real party!
