I’m devoting a whole post to Lauren & Chris’ marriage license because 1) I can, 2) it’s too great of a story to forget.
I don’t remember exactly how I became aware of it, but it was after the ceremony and I overheard that the marriage license had been forgotten at their home in Lewisville. Whispers of “who should we send?” and “what do we do?” came next. Always the problem solver, I offered up one of my crew. Lauren & Chris had chosen a three shooter package, and we were at a place in the coverage where I could comfortably push forward with my second shooter and we would get all of the images that they needed. Vivian and Audrey had already tirelessly worked at documenting the details and so Vivian and I could just split up reception room until Audrey’s return. I know that was a long way to say that we sent Audrey – but in my head I had already run all of those scenarios.
So off Audrey went with a clicker and a set of keys – the clicker for the gate entrance and the keys to the front door. We armed her with a few cell phone numbers and I told her I would put mine in my back pocket. And then it turns out that we all got busy – I never put my phone in my pocket and the numbers she had weren’t checked by their respective owners. And there was poor Audrey, standing at their front door and the deadbolt was locked from the inside. So back she came to The Tribute and we armed her with another handful of clickers and random gadgets and promised her it would work this time. Thinking she was probably hungry, I also sent her with mac and cheese (and a roll). That amused both of us to no end. Clickers, keys, mac and cheese.
Audrey was attacked with a massive hug. Let’s analyze what is in her hands -ceremony program (new address inside!), keys, clicker and marriage license (mission accomplished!).
Signing the license!
YAY!
