Nancy, Vivie and I found ourselves in Houston (well, Missouri City / Sugar Land to be exact) a few weeks ago. My faithful blog stalkers already know we stopped at the Sam Houston statue on the way back & I’ve also made mention of sweet, wonderful cousin Nancy. Ok, now that everyone has caught up, here’s a little backstory …
I met Kristina & David a few Mays ago at Julie & Eric’s wedding, where Kristina was the maid of honor. Kristina planned much of her wedding from London, where she & David reside, so I literally had met her once before her wedding. However, she and I agreed that we felt like old friends – I guess some long logistically intense emails will do that to you.
I wanted to just add one more thing before I went on to a mass picture posting spree…
Kristina’s mom is from Norway and collects gnomes as they are thought to bring good luck. Julie excitedly met me at the door and asked if I had seen the collection. A collection of Gnomes and I wasn’t in my own house!!
I asked Kristina’s mom which was her favorite and she brought this one out – it is two gnomes dancing and she had given it to her parents for an anniversary present. I just thought it was so very sweet and a touching way to start the day (and this post).
Now, may the posting spree commence!!!
And, finally, my favorite sparkler picture of all time. I warned Vivie & Nancy to watch out for guests with sparklers. Can you spot both of them simultaneously running for their lives?
[ ceremony ] New Hope Lutheran Church, Missouri City
[ reception ] Sugar Creek Country Club, Sugar Land
