Kimberly & Rob :: reception at Wildwood Inn | Modern Dallas Wedding Photography

Reception posts make me so happy and so sad at the same time. Of course, the amazing memories of that come flooding back because the reception is where things get really wild and fun! But at the same time it means that all of the planning is over. Kim still emails me regularly and we banter back and forth on facebook as she has since moved to Virginia to be close to her sweet husband Rob. You better believe your hynie that we are already planning a trash the dress session in Virgina Beach, so stay tuned for that!

This was our first reception with Ed Petty of LeForce. His reputation had definitely preceded him and we were Jones-ing (if you got this joke – then extended kudos to you! If not, it’s such an inside joke that it’s ridiculous and it definitely involves Peyronet) to have some reception fun with him. Ed was spectacular – fun, warm, and a great spinner of the jams. We have definitely put him in our pink puffy heart circle!

Super side note before you get to the images : Kim’s wedding was the first one where we heard ‘Gangum Style’. That weekend, I had flown in from Chicago and I kept hearing the strangest song over and over on the radio. And there was Mr Petty playing it with the whole room breaking out into the oddest dance routine! You’ll never forget the first time you heard ‘Gangum Style’ at a wedding, believe me.

Kim’s father was incredibly important to her and I was able to capture a moment of her remembering him privately during the reception.

Instead of wedding cake, Kim & Rob opted for ice cream, banana pudding and cobbler. How do you do a cake cutting without cake, well you feed each other ice cream of course!
