I arrived at Haute Facade that morning to a mellow group. Alicia was painting her nails and talking about the rain outside so we knew it was time to get silly. We all settled in and started telling funny stories, hence the picture of Alicia cracking up while she is getting her hair done.
The weather and *awesome* downtown Dallas traffic delayed everyone from getting to the location site within the 5 minutes that our GPSes had promised us. Vivian headed straight to Jessie’s holding area and found Jessie already dressed so she did the right thing and made him completely undress again for the camera. Brown chicken brown cow.
From there, Vivian and Nancy locked themselves in with Alicia and rocked all of her getting ready shots & details.
I was off doing formals, just in case you thought I was sitting on my bum somewhere during this time :). The rain stopped right at 4:05 and we actually shot all of the formals outside. The next post will fill you in with all of the portraits awesomeness, until then, let’s talk ceremony!
The ceremony took place at the Pilot Grove Church, which was built in 1895. It’s something right out of small town living: little white church with a bell tower and wooden pews on either side of a the center aisle. Vivian, Nancy and I took it on in our favorite triangle pattern with Vivian and I cross-shooting in the front and Nancy in the back.
When I met with Alicia & Jessie they explained that the reception Pavillion would be across a little street. It was literally a stone’s throw away (even if i was chunking the stone). Well, I wouldn’t throw a stone at a glass house. That would just be evil, you know?
The Pavillion was opened up to let the cool air in and it just made for the most amazing pictures.
During the parent dances, Alicia & Jessie waltzed outside the Pavillion and danced alone. Ridiculously romantic, huh?
