Say hello to Tool, Texas. Funny name, awesome city though.
We caught up with the Williams family for portraits at their lake house earlier this month. I had never met a single one of them yet Vivian and I found them in jolly spirits when we arrived. Actually, they were just a pleasure to shoot, sarcastic and joking through the whole thing. We were even blessed with a lovely sunlight day and a gentle breeze. It was ridiculously perfect and oodles of fun. We have tough lives as photographers, let me tell...
Stephanie and Ben opted to merge traditions in their wedding ceremony. Marty Younkin of Love Notes Weddings officiated the Christian ceremony & Rabbi Jeffrey B. Leynor worked his magic on the Jewish portion.
(Side bar: it's not easy to find a Rabbi that will officiate a dual-faith wedding, so if you are interested in something like this, definitely give Rabbi Leynor a holler at 972.816.7281- he is amazing... and don't forget how much Marty rocks as well!)
Before the ceremony, Stephanie & Ben signed the ketubah...
Just a little announcement, but I will be out of the studio for a few days. I am leaving for Virginia Beach tomorrow to shoot Mary & Nathan's wedding on Friday. Viv and I are FREAKING excited about it and I know Mary & Nathan are too!! I've already found the nearest H&M store to visit. Gosh, I love traveling to the land of H&M :) .
I will be in Houston on Saturday and Sunday for some top secret awesomeness. And, finally, returning to wreak havoc on some fun holiday photos starting on Tuesday. Speaking of...
We begin today's story on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Fort Worth Texas at the equally beautiful Marty Leonard Chapel.
LOVE, LOVE the pink shoes.
The minister looking over the vows before the ceremony.
The kids got a front row seat!
John & his mom are all smiles walking down the aisle.
Jana's mom is trying to keep the candle steady.
Just a side note, notice the back candle is trying to put itself out. John's mom handed me a lighter right before Jana came down the aisle so I could get it re-lit. I handed...
I caught up with Lauren's uncle, aunt, cousins, and their puppy Tarah for a little field-tastic family portrait session. I loved the coordinating blues and reds - we had a blast even with mosquitoes the size of small cats. At least there weren't any burrs this time ...
There's Lauren! She was my lighting magician for this portrait session!
And one more group photo for good measure...
This is going to be a whopper of a post. Holly & Jason gives us OODLES of details. I actually considered just making a details post just to house them all. Instead, I am going to put some enormous load on my blog just to ... test it, you know? I think you should overload your blog with pictures just for the fun of it sometimes.
I loved Holly & Jason the moment I met them. Both avid gamers and sarcastic types, we talked for hours at our first meeting. I get to engagements and suddenly Jason is...
Trash the Dress (TTD). Rock the Frock. Sand in my underpants. Whatever you call it, there's one goal: creativity. (Well, that and maybe shocking your mother.)
Trashing a wedding dress is so little about destruction and so much about limitless possibilities - opening yourself up to something you would have never done otherwise to create photographic gold with no wedding day limits of time or decorum.
It's for those who don't fit in the box - a box that has been metaphorically spherical for some years now anyway.
Think of...
I was giddy with excitement when Chandy picked a new & unique location to shoot bridals off of my portraits list. Yes, I have a list of exciting locations for my clients to choose to do their portraits and Chandy went straight to the "haven't tried it yet, but SO want to" !
So there we were with Chandy, her mother and her friend prancing around with this utterly daring, sexy lighting and Chandy is totally up for anything - not even blinking twice when I tell her to roll around on the floor. I mentioned in my previous...
Ah, yes. I mentioned Cake Video in my previous post and it spurred another post for today!
Numero uno : Kimberly & Brandon's Victorian House wedding day highlights are available for you to oogle here! (Ok, it's been up since January, but I just found it!)
And then there is the second thing .... I just got this video still from Josh. Definitely another caught moment from Shelley & Jeff's wedding last week! Thanks to Josh for the hilarity!
Do we need the backstory or does the image say enough ?...
