Erica & Joe :: Portraits at the Dallas Arboretum & Joule Hotel

I know someone is going to come back and ask me where these portraits were taken and I'm going to call this another Rose Garden, just west of Crape Myrtle Allee and right near the Indian Courtyard Arbor. (Believe me, I tried to figure it out on the Arboretum's Interactive Map and I found it unlabeled).   Right after the ceremony we took some more images under the canopy of the Crape Myrtles in Crape Myrtle Allee. And we then proceeded to the Joule Hotel were we took some more dramatic images ... Just love...

Shanna & Walt :: portraits McKinney downtown & Rover Dramawerks

After hair & makeup concluded, we took the bridal party to this lovely spot in downtown McKinney. I just love the texture of the wall and how it allowed the purple clothing to pop. And there's the beautiful, Shanna. She was just stunning, taking that bridal glow to a whole new level. I caught up with the groom's party at Rover Dramawerks. They were a crew with a lot of personality and they were just so easy to talk to and snap photos of. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed portraits that day - they were laid back,...

Dearest assistant, what have you learned?

I mentioned on Facebook that was I took on the fairly un-fun (ok, dreadful) task of moving all of my emails from a local email file on my computer to the infamous 'cloud'. I contemplated for a second on just dumping 1/29/2004 to present into one obnoxiously overfilled folder, but I figured I might regret that at a later date when I actually have to find a specific email and I can't remember what year someone got married (or who they married or whatnot). As a bonus for the three hours of my life that I will never get back,...

Stacey & Eric :: getting ready at the Ashton Hotel

I shot two intimate-sized weddings WITHOUT Vivian. Stacey & Eric's was the first of those weddings so while there are no caught pictures to enjoy for my first post of this wedding, I did have the opportunity to do all of the details myself. I know, Vivian is really, really good at details and I did channel as much of her awesomeness as I could muster. I met Stacey and Eric for the first time on their wedding day. That's another new one for me, but we had spoken on the phone on several occasions prior and I already...

Kellie & Jarrett :: Portraits at Irving Bible Church

Thanks to my awesome Chandi, we rocked through portraits after the ceremony quickly. It's not that there was a long list, but there wasn't much space for the bigger groupings so while I clicked away, Chandi gathered the troops and moved pews for me. IBC had some lovely greenary for us to frolick in afterward we concluded the family portraits. Initially, Kellie and I had discussed *maybe* doing some portraits outside after the ceremony. It was July and we all know what July in Texas is like. Well, except for this...

Erica & Ben :: portraits at First United Methodist, Garland

Thanks to some awesome planning and coordination (I LOVE YOU MEREDITH OF SIGNIFICANT EVENTS!!!) We had oodles of stress-less time to do formal portraits both before and after the ceremony. As Erica and Ben did not see each other before hand, we started with Erica and her bridesmaids and then moved to Erica and her family. Then we tackled Ben and the groomsmen and his family as well. When Ben walked out with the groomsmen, that was our first meeting. "Hello. Hi, let's get this show on the road!" He was even more adorable...

Deanna & Oscar :: getting ready at Diamond Oaks Country Club, Ft Worth

I'm going to start the morning admitting that this week's posts will be out of order. I didn't have the caught post ready so I'm going to dive in with the getting ready portion of the show and tell you the neat back story tomorrow. And there's a heck of a fun story line on this one as I've known Oscar for a crazy amount of years. Seeing Oscar the groom was so very exciting to me. But enough with the teasing, let's get to the good stuff ... Vivian and I arrived to the bustling of the gentleman setting up DJ and sound...

Megan & Matt :: Getting Ready at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Dallas

Some days the sun just shines a little bit brighter and this was one of those mornings. There was no amount of delays or baptisms or retreats that were going to take away that shine. Baptism, what? Well, we lost some of our getting ready time at the church because there was a baptism that morning. And we had to be o-so-quiet because of a church retreat. But by golly, we were going to march on and make it happen! We even got crazy creative and met Matt at the hotel with Megan's details so we could have extra time for those...

Lindsay & Bret :: Portraits at River Crest & Robert Carr Chapel

I never know the fun exciting things that any given wedding day will throw at us. With the party bus stuck in traffic and not having a definite ETA, we made the decision to begin wedding party pictures at River Crest Country Club. I kept the whole group fairly close to the front of the club so that we could hop on at any time with minimal effort. Our wedding planner, Rhonda Baker with Precisely as Planned was amazing in keeping me updated as I kept giving her my wide-eyed where-is-the-damn-bus?! facial expressions....

Katie & Douglas :: engaged!

It's obvious that Katie & Doug are extraordinarily stylish, but they are also incredibly kind and a such a pleasure to be around. I caught up with these two in Fort Worth where we enjoyed  a lovely summer day frolicking in the park as well as an impromptu bike ride. Well, impromptu for me, Katie & Doug already had the idea when I arrived as they wanted to pay homage to their lovely bike rides through Trinity Park. As soon as they shared their plans, my wheels started churning and I decided that Katie had to sit...
