I’ve known Taylor forever. I can link you all over the blog to years and years of pictures as proof – from her mother Leticia’s wedding to 8th grade volleyball pics and then on to senior pics. She has assisted me at weddings, kept me sane and hydrated, and even dressed up as a gorilla & delivered chocolate chip cookies at Vivian’s bachelorette party. She’s ingrained in my heart and woven into the fabric of Lynn Michelle Photography.
There was no question that I wanted to, NOPE!, HAD to photograph her wedding. And a bonus of all bonuses? It was all walking distance from my home in Oak Cliff and we got to explore some pretty cool stuff in the process.
We started the day at a little bungalow near Kidd Springs Park where I literally frolicked through someone’s backyard as I photographed Taylor’s dress and accessories. As I walked out the door with her things in hand she yelled “GOOD LUCK!” I hopped out the door and screamed “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!”
If I told you that I struggled for a second I would be lying. There was a lot of stuff in the backyard, which included a bright orange shed. I actually hung the dress up against the shed because the light was decent and I sighed and dodged back and forth trying to make it work … then I saw the gate and went full throttle. Let’s just say I am still patting myself on the back for this one. Yep, still.
We got Taylor dressed pretty quickly and met Brian at the flamingo wall behind ABC Supply off Davis. Two things. 1) HOW FREAKING COOL IS IT THAT THEY DID THEIR FIRST LOOK AGAINST A FLAMINGO WALL? 2) I MET BRIAN FOR THE FIRST TIME AT A FLAMINGO WALL!
The rest of the story of the first look? I think it can be flawlessly told in the images below. Brian captured my heart in two second flat. He’s the bestest.
