Emily’s parents live a few miles from the studio so the crew and I took a leisurely drive up MacArthur Blvd to begin getting ready images. We arrived to find oodles of fun things to photograph and as Vivian and Jessica set out to take pictures of Emily’s dress, I took the her jewelry and wandered around her childhood home.  During my walk, I found a fun little cabinet of colorful figurines and I set to work. I found out later that those particular figurines meant a lot to Emily and her family, which of course made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

We made our way further up MacArthur Blvd to The Church of the Apostles, where the wedding ceremony would be held. The funny part of this story is that I have shot a wedding at The Church of the Apostles before – Katie and Donny’s – but Emily’s mother had found me at Gil’s Catering Event at the Dallas Arboretum a few months prior. Now, it’s true that as a photographer I see many of the same churches, but the congregation there is smaller than any of the ones that I usually frequent plus the added bonus that Katie & Donny would be attending made it that much more spectacular.

Beautiful sunflowers set the tone for the gorgeous day.

But more beautiful than anything, was the sweetness that you saw between Emily & Matt. It just radiated!
