I’m beyond lucky. I have found and surrounded myself with some amazing peers in the wedding industry who share the same vision that I do. This is a group of gals that believe in credibility, honor and customer service and we all came together at first to just talk about our businesses – to discuss the good and the bad – and to help one another elevate our proverbial game.
This isn’t something you do lightly. It’s completely exposing a little part of yourself, your baby, your business, to your competition and trusting them completely. And yet none of us hesitated, not even one bit. We spent hours evaluating, conjuring and helping one another and then we looked at each other and we knew we had something very, very special. So we joined forces and became The Photography Clique and we set some lofty goals.
The silly goal, (because you have to have a silly goal) was to take over the world, one photograph at a time. But the real, heart-of-the-matter-reason-we-get-up-in-the-morning was to educate. The four of us – Michelle with Peyronet Photography, Stacey with Simple Moments Photography, Janelle of Engaged Studio, and myself had the passionate desire to make sure that every client could make an informed decision when picking a wedding photographer. And the brainstorming began.
We started by breaking down the photography booking process – talking about styles, consultations, products and pricing. We paired our presentations with amazing venues (The Colonial Country Club, Coyote Ridge Country Club, NYLO Las Colinas, Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Sambuca Uptown) and amazing vendors (Colby Logan of Astounding Sounds, Creme de la Creme bakery, Marty Younkin of Love Notes, Circle Park Bridal, Ed Petty with LeForce Entertainment, Justine’s Flowers, Marc Robert Videography, Tommy Evans of Specialty Sound, DiFiori, The Cakery, Rhonda Baker with Precisely as Planned, Turquoise Video Productions, William Ryan of It’s Your Night Entertainment, Bridal Blooms of Fort Worth, Hot Chocolates Bakery).
Wow, did we feel the love.
We were even approached by the perfect sponsor, a Dallas-based and well respected professional lab named Pounds Labs that, too, believed in education, sharing, and elevating our industry.
And boy, did we feel the love.
So this all of this brings me to our next Research. Meet. Click. event for brides, grooms, and their whole wedding posse. The date has been lovingly set for Thursday, February 21st, 7 to 9pm and the venue has been secured. It’s the gorgeous Marty Leonard Chapel that you all surely know that I am utterly obsessed with.
