I’ve been here all alone in the studio this week while Vivian has been out sick. I didn’t realize how much more I can get done without our daily mid-afternoon cheese & apple breaks. MMM cheese.
Part of what I am doing in the background is copying over some of my earliest digital weddings from DVD/CD to an external hard drive as an extra measure of security. You know that nostalgic feeling you have when going through mementos? Everyone still looks so familiar to me.
I actually ran into a guy at Northpark mall a few weeks ago that looked really familiar- I knew he was the best man at a wedding, but I couldn’t remember which one. In the copying process, I figured out which wedding- shot back in 2002. He would have thought I was a nut job saying hello so luckily I just racked my brain the whole way home.
In case you are wondering what I was shooting with in 2002, it was a Nikon Coolpix 995 with a flash bracket and external SB28 mounted flash. It wasn’t my main camera at the time, (I was still a film shooter), but my good old Coolpix really got some big attention at weddings. It was bulky, it was slow, and it was 3.2 glorious megapixels. Don’t be jealous.

My film cameras have since found new homes in mysterious places, but I still see the Nikon regularly at my in-laws, where my father in law still takes out for special occasions.
I wanted to share this picture that I just came across. It always cracks me up. This is 100% Matthew, he made silly faces through the whole wedding … I guess I’m in 2005 now 🙂
