Also known as Day 5 🙂

Like a good little MOH, I left my camera sleeping soundly in the car. The following images were courtesy of Erinn, who attended as well!

Despite the hideous face that I am making, the cake was incredibly yummy. It was lemon cake with buttercream frosting and locally grown blackberry jam filling. YUM!

Alright, it’s speech time now!

Hello everyone.

My name is Lynn and I am honored to be standing up here with Gloria and Eric. I met Gloria in high school at Plano East in what seems forever ago. I spent my junior year trying to fit in and Gloria spent it putting skittles in my water at lunch. At the time it wasn’t funny at all, but now it seems so hilarious. And so Gloria.

At my wedding, I found 4 strawberries floating in my champagne even before the toasts began. And in true Gloria & Lynn style, we never made it through the toast, we just laughed so hard about the strawberries that we cried.
So today I have two goals: one, to make it through my speech, and two, to make sure that Gloria doesn’t put something into my drink!

Gloria, we have shared so much in our lives with each other. I am so honored to be sharing this day with you. Starting today, you will begin to share a life with Eric but remember that I will always be here for you and always ready to stand up by your side.

Eric, I look forward to getting to know you. In the past week, I have learned how sincere and caring you are. And from your friends & family I have heard how  awesome you are as well. I, too, will be here for you and I look forward to having embarrassing stories to tell. I see how engaging you are with Gloria and that warms my heart to know she is in good hands. My two biggest pieces of advice would be to always kiss goodnight and always keep your drink at arms length from her.

To the gorgeous couple, congratulations.

And here’s how it went down. Notice Eric slipping something into Gloria’s drink. It’s the Wee Little Gnome that Gloria had given me for my birthday last year. Gloria obviously just wants her drink.

I held her hand through the whole speech (left image) because I knew I was going to lose it otherwise. At first it was just a ploy to keep her attention on me though. In the right image, she has just realized what I had done and asked “when did you do that?”

Ok, now I have my own camera again! Here is the beautiful view on the patio that we had at Ivar’s Salmon House right when we arrived.

And this is when we left. Isn’t it just beautiful?
