I’ve found myself in the lull that is the beginning of each year. I have another month before wedding season gets into full swing so I spend my time updating my website, setting goals for the upcoming year and looking at last year’s batch of cds/papers/books. This is what I call my homeless stacks – things that just don’t have a home and I haven’t figured out what to do with. I’m sure the majority of it will meet my trashcan but I just have to pull that trigger.
Towards the end of last year, I took on a crazy huge backup project of all of my old images, transferring them from DVDs to external hard drives. And by “I took on” I really mean I recruited no fewer than 4 people to help me throughout the process. It was oodles of copy time, several terabytes of images, and even some film scanning. There’s a lot of stuff you can shoot in 13 years, apparently. There are still a few orphan copies that need to be matched up and since that is the most tedious part. They have been sitting there staring at me and giggling in high-pitched gnomish tones.
Can’t you just hear them giggle?
On a more personal note, check out my fancy new closet reorg from last week. Before (left) and after (right). I feel like I’m walking into a boutique every morning.
Now I just need to make the office look that awesome. Come here little stacks …
