I was born and raised in Dallas, I know every crazy corner of it. My memories of Fort Worth are few and consist of going to the Japanese Gardens when I was 8 and a Metallica concert in ’97. (That’s the show when they played each song twice for a video they were making. Don’t be jealous of the concert that took HOURS.)
So it was time to acquaint myself better with the F to the W and my day started by visiting Thistle Hill & McFarland House. Both locations are beyond lovely and I’m happy to sure a full gallery of interior pictures if you wish to email me.
So at this point my trip to Fort Worth, although very exciting, can hardly be deemed an adventure. That’s where Keeli steps in. If you don’t know who Keeli is, then you need to explore the blog some more because she pops up quite a bit. (Hint: Most recent sighting was for birthday madness). Keeli wanted to show me a remodeled church near the hospital. It’s Thursday afternoon so we didn’t think twice about parking in the lot and walking in. She walks in ahead of me, turns in horror and walks right back out. Now, I’m confused by the whole thing but I’m busy. You see, I have managed to get my heal caught in the main the doors and I’m still trying to free myself as this all occurs.
What did we walk into? A funeral.
Now, I’m sure you are either cracking up at the thought of two girls walking into a funeral and one of them getting caught in the doors or thinking about of the horror of the whole thing. Well, on the plus side (if I may call that the plus side), there was a second of doors shielding us (and the noise) from the sanctuary and we scurried out without drawing attention to ourselves. Although my favorite quote of the day did come from Keeli: “they really should put up a sign somewhere.”
Only us.
No, that’s not me on Keeli’s lap 🙂
