Ginae B. McDonald, Fort Worth Photography Examiner had a interview with me a few weeks back and here is the article – Lynn Michelle Photography : The Interview.
My favorite question?
“Is there ANYTHING that you’d like others to know about what you do for a living?
I’d like them to know everything about what we really do as photographers on a wedding day! We do so much more than click a button and there’s a lot of preplanning to make sure each event goes smoothly.
My goal at every wedding is to not only make formals as natural and entertaining as possible, but to make sure that we are at the reception on time so that everyone can enjoy themselves. To do so, we start with a well planned timeline and look at any risks that may derail us – this can be anything from a habitually late bridal party member to making sure that the flowers are delivered to the church in time to pin the boutineers on the groomsmen. I also provide a lighting assistant to set up lighting quickly for those portraits (yes, I like them well lit and gorgeous) and to tame the shot list.
My second photographer, Vivian, is a seasoned pro and I always feel confident that while I’m coralling groomsmen, she’s in another corner rocking every detail shot and thinking two steps ahead of me. She’s also picking up every lens cap that I leave behind, as I’m notorious for that.
I know, it’s hard to look past those dollar signs, but you are getting so much more than images. You are getting the experience, education, and unique skillset of a professional that has ‘been there, done that’ and cannot wait to do it all over again!
Well said! Thanks for your time today!”
On Monday, I’ll talk more about this answer and also talk about the Research. Meet. Click. event that I presented at a few weeks ago. Have a safe and lovely weekend!
