I had the wonderful pleasure of returning to San Jose, California a bit over a year after my first trip. Last year, Vivian and I were partying it up at Rashee & Asheesh’s wedding. This year, my husband Nathan and I went to visit our dear friends Erinn, Charles, and baby Sloane.

Our trip included a lot of Pinkberry & yummy food as well as SEVERAL trips to H&M. We spent the entire trip eating on outside patios and enjoying 60-70 degree weather. We heard complaints on a few days as it got into the early 80s and we laughed thinking about the 100+ degree weather we can just left behind. We even encountered a mid 30 degree morning in San Francisco and ordered tea & coffee by the gallon to warm up.

We stopped at Russian River Brewing Company in Santa Rosa on our way to Napa/Sonoma. We had expected a Brewery up in the California hills, but instead we were at a restaurant-style brewery in the middle of downtown Santa Rose. Not what we expected, but they did not disappoint the boys with their crazy named brews. Erinn, Sloane and I enjoyed beer bites, hummus & veggies, as well as cream soda & root beer.

Sloane was a happy camper. She REALLY liked the beer bites. (Disclaimer: no children were inebriated in this story. Beer bites are cheese pizza in a bite size form to compliment beer).

“Can I have another beer bite? I smiled for her already.”

From Santa Rosa, we made our way to the wine country to the “purple castle” known as the Ledson Winery & Vineyards. The boys enjoyed a wine tasting while we looked around the castle and enjoyed the grounds. Of course we needed a family picture in the vineyard!

And then we were off to the glorious Domaine Carneros Winery.

I enjoyed a sampler of California sparkling wines.

We also got a scrumptious cheese tray and Tsar Nicoulai Caviar.

As a bonus, a rare image of Nathan.

And another rare image of me loving on the utterly adorable Sloane.
