You know how you stick with a hair stylist that isn’t rocking your world completely just because you are scared that you will hurt their feelings or that another one will just suck more? That’s about where I was in 2006 when I decided to break up with my stylist. So I called this salon down the street from my place and I got a very jolly gentleman on the phone named Drew. I’m sure Drew could hear the guilt in my voice as I said I was looking for a new stylist that was “good with long hair and not too talkativeâ€. Within moments I was up with Oscar and the rest is happy hair history.
After a few visits, I came to find out that Drew had selflessly set me up with his buddy, Oscar, whom he thought would work best for me. I can’t thank Drew for a lot of a things, but this one was as awesome as they came. So here’s your public thank you, Drew. You only get one.
Oscar has been my personal hair magician since that day and a little while back he started talking about this girl Deanna that he’s known for many years. Oscar really isn’t much of a talker so when he tells you something personal, you definitely listen. As the months went on, every mention of Deanna had a glowing smile that went with it. And by the time he proposed and she said yes, I think he was going to explode with joy.
You can imagine my excitement to be asked to be their wedding photographer and my incredible joy at seeing them celebrate their new life together. And I made some new friends myself including Deanna’s amazing daughter and a very fun videographer slash Mariachi musician.
Happy Vivie.
This is how you do it.
